INTREN Minimum Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age
  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Have a high school diploma or GED, Trade experience, Job Corp Training
  • Pass a drug test
  • Pass a background check

The steps to be selected for training are:

  • Complete and submit your application
  • Qualified candidates will be selected for an interview

Open Positions 
All positions will require that you join one of the Local Unions in Baltimore dependent on the work choice you are pursuing.

Laborer’s Requirements – Local 710
A Laborer must be physically able to do the work of the trade and pass a gas utility company’s Operators Qualification (OQ) testing. A valid Class A CDL license is a plus. This is an entry-level position.

Operator’s Requirements – Local 37
An Operating Engineer must pass a gas utility company’s Operator Qualification (OQ) testing and satisfy all other competency requirements for the classification recognized by the Union.  A valid Class A CDL license is a plus. 

Job Description
Operate several types of power construction equipment associated with utility line installation as described in the Union's governance of work rules. For more details please see go to: http://www.iuoe.org/  

Pipefitter's Requirements -   UA Local 486 
A pipefitter must pass a gas utility company’s Operator Qualification (OQ) testing and satisfy competency requirements for the classification recognized by the Union.  A valid Class A CDL license is a plus. You may also apply to the Apprenticeship Program.
